Farm Update
It's been a busy season here at Goodwin Family Farms!
Over the past several weeks, we've been focused on kidding season, caring for our growing herd, and catching up on everything that comes with life on a working dairy goat farm. Spring always keeps us on our toes, and we wouldn't have it any other way!
We're also excited to share that we've been hard at work planning several upcoming educational workshops. These hands-on events will cover topics including dairy goat care, hoof trimming, showmanship, and more. We can't wait to share our knowledge and help both new and experienced goat owners build confidence in caring for their herds.
One of our biggest pieces of news is that we were recently awarded a SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) Producer Grant! This is an incredible opportunity that will allow us to conduct a two-year research project focused on improving dairy goat nutrition and butterfat production in the southern United States. We're currently preparing the study, organizing records, and getting everything in place for data collection.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Goodwin Family Farms. Whether you've purchased products, attended a clinic, followed our educational posts, or simply cheered us on, we truly appreciate you being part of our journey.
Stay tuned—there are lots of exciting things coming soon!
