Caring for goats/sheep shouldn't require loading your entire herd into a trailer. The Arkansas Traveling Goat Farrier provides professional, mobile hoof trimming and specialty goat/sheep-care services throughout Arkansas. With more than 400 clients and years of hands-on experience working with goats of all breeds, ages, and sizes, our goal is to make routine herd care easier for goat/sheep owners while keeping your animals comfortable and properly maintained.

Why use a Goat/Sheep Specific Farrier?

Goat/Sheep hooves aren't just smaller versions of horse hooves. Proper trimming requires understanding normal hoof structure, growth, balance, common hoof problems, and how management conditions affect the foot.

Whether you have two backyard goats/sheep or a large working herd, we bring the equipment and experience directly to you.

We Come to You

No loading the herd. No hauling goats across the state.

We travel directly to farms and homesteads throughout Arkansas and part of surrounding states allowing goats/sheep to receive routine care in their own environment.

Routes are organized geographically, appointments must be scheduled when we're working in your area.

Follow The Arkansas Traveling Goat Farrier on Facebook and we will tag @followers when we set routes.

We must have your contact and address before you are considered on a route.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Before we arrive: Have goats caught or confined in a reasonably small working area whenever possible.

When we arrive: We'll work through your animals efficiently while paying attention to each goat's individual needs. If we notice anything that concerns us, then we will bring it to your attention. Examples are if we notice lice, animal needs dewormed etc.

Additional services: We also offer vaccinations, copper, blood draws, ultrasounds, tattooing, or other services, we will complete those during the same farm visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my goat's hooves be trimmed?
There isn't one schedule that fits every goat. Growth rate, terrain, moisture, diet, genetics, and management all affect how quickly hooves need attention. Average is 6-8 weeks.

Do you only trim goats?
No. We work with goats and sheep of different breeds, sizes, ages, and purposes.

Do I have to bring my goats to you?
No—that's the point! We come to your farm.

Can you do more than hoof trimming?
Yes. Several routine herd-care services can be scheduled during your visit.

Can I schedule just one goat?
Yes. We can do one goat/sheep or an entire herd. We just need to know ahead of time, so that we can plan accordingly.
